Isabel Roos is a freelance illustrator and artist.
Her creative work unfolds a rich palette of colours, patterns, structures and shapes. In a creative synthesis, abstract and concrete elements merge harmoniously to create an iridescent aesthetic and are given a special depth through precise drawing techniques.
Her work radiates poetic sensitivity and bold presence at the same time.
Her illustrative work includes book illustration, editorial illustration and scientific illustrations. In addition to illustration, she also specialises in fine art and painting. She has over the years been part of many exhibitions and artist collaborations.
Isabel Roos graduated with a Master of Arts in Science Illustration from the Department of Design at HAW Hamburg. She is the founder of Atelier Botanimalia.

A detail about me
The world in a sketchbook
As an illustrator and artist, travel sketching is more than just a technique for me - it's a passion that accompanies me on every journey. Every time I open my sketchbook, I feel like an explorer looking at the world with fresh eyes. The vibrant colours, vivid sounds and unique smells of the places I visit inspire me deeply. Each sketch tells a story shaped by the encounters and experiences I have while travelling. It is this connection between art and experience that drives me and shows me that the world is an endless adventure full of inspiration. I look forward to exploring my next travels with my sketchpad.
With the regular training of a routine through sketches and drawing exercises, a craft of artistic expertise develops. This expertise is then applied to both illustration and fine art work.
